Celebrating faith, culture and community in Glasgow and its environs since 2008. We are a vibrant Catholic community bringing together Nigerians and friends from across Glasgow.
The Nigerian Catholic Community Glasgow & Environs (NCCGE) was established in 2009 to provide a spiritual home for Nigerian Catholics living in Glasgow and the surrounding areas. Our community is united by our shared faith, rich cultural heritage and a desire to worship together in the Nigerian Catholic tradition.
We celebrate bi-monthly Mass on the first Sunday of every other month, incorporating Nigerian hymns, prayers and cultural elements into our worship. Our community also gathers weekly for Divine Mercy prayers every Thursday evening via Zoom.
Beyond worship, NCCGE fosters fellowship through various groups including the Catholic Women Organisation (CWO), Choir Ministry and Youth Group. Our annual Harvest & Bazaar is the highlight of our community calendar, bringing together members and friends for a celebration of thanksgiving, Nigerian food, fashion and crafts.
Rooted in the Catholic tradition, our faith is the foundation of everything we do.
We come together as one community, regardless of tribe, language or background.
We serve one another and the wider Glasgow community through acts of charity and care.
We celebrate our Nigerian heritage while embracing the rich multicultural tapestry of Glasgow.
Our community chaplain provides spiritual guidance and leads our faith community in worship, prayer and pastoral care. The chaplain plays a central role in organising Masses, providing the sacraments and supporting the spiritual growth of all members.
Our dedicated executives work tirelessly to serve the community, coordinating events, managing operations and ensuring every member feels welcome and supported.
To celebrate the Catholic faith in the Nigerian tradition, enriching the spiritual life of our members through regular Mass and prayer.
To create a welcoming environment where Nigerian Catholics and friends can connect, support one another and grow in faith together.
To preserve and celebrate our Nigerian Catholic heritage while contributing to the wider Glasgow community through cultural exchange and service.
